Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Date: 29th October 2014

Although I have a mobile phone, I rarely use it unless I'm late for an appointment.  I don't like spending time on a mobile and much prefer my landline.

I recently compiled a small list of phone numbers which I would accept and I never pick up on anything beginning with 0800.  However, this morning a call came through with what was a genuine number.  Thinking this might have been from someone I'd not entered into my acceptance list, I answered.  It was a cold call from HYC.  I've now blocked this number but these sneaky individuals invariably find some way around all the safety nets which we erect.

I subscribe to the TPS on BT so now will have to find a way of doing the same thing for my mobile.

I know I'm a stick in the mud but there are so many elements of this compensation culture and IT world which I loathe.  There are vultures, like ambulance chasing solicitors, who also phone up after they see names in the Obit columns.  Have they no sense of decency or shame?  Short answer - NO

Promise I'll get down to happier matters when I write up my lovely holiday in the Dordogne.
