Shoreham Airshow 2007
Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

PARIS - Street Scene with Cat

Date: 6th June 2014

Whilst walking down the Rue Rivoli to the Eglise Protestant, I passed a couple of people begging who had  dogs with them - a sure fire for those of us who love animals.  Then, I did a double take because there sitting on a carrier was a cat - a rather lovely cat.

I put some money in the owner's bowl and asked if I could take a photo.  The cat did what all cats and dogs  do when you point a camera at them - it started walking towards me.  I stroked him/her and tried again but each time I attempted to take a shot, the cat came towards me so I had to make do with a long shot.  The Cat was delightful and the old lady had such a lovely benign face I couldn't help wondering how she ended up begging on the street.  Sad - very sad.
