Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Date: 1st January 2014

A Happy New Year to you all. It might be a big wish but let's hope there is more peace in the world. And personally I wish you all Good Health, Good luck, and Happiness.

My son arranged us to watch the New Year fireworks from Clark Island - a nature reserve in Sydney Harbour. It was an all inclusive price for the ferry, food, wine and a disco. The ferry ride is always enjoyable, the food and wine left a lot to be desired but then catering on an island can't be easy. The organisation was second to none with constant clearing away and very pleasant and helpful assistants.

We were in a very good position to see the fireworks and the ferry ride back was great - we were able to see the dozens of boats, yachts etc. who were all done up with lights. Can't really describe it to you and can't share the photos at the moment as I am unable to transfer them from my camera to my Ipad. So it will be a little unseasonal but I'll post some when I get back to the Uk.
