Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Date: 28th November 2013

I went on an Oldies Tour last week and visited Old friends, Old parents, and old Cathedrals - 3 of them in fact, Norwich, Ely and Exeter.

Rather busy at the moment but just to keep you interested, I hope to write some blogs at the weekend and show you some of the photos taken at the fabulous Cathedrals.

Also went to the Pearl Exhibition at the V & A but, of course, couldn't take photos - however I do have a little story to tell about the Hope Pearl.  We've all heard of the Hope Diamond but I'd no idea there was a Hope Pearl.

Also want to tell you about the Pettet family and the generosity of a person who allowed me access to photograph the carved wooden crest on the walls of their home and a visit to a church in Kent where one of my ancestors is buried.

People often remark on my busy life - actually sometimes it is hectic and at other times I could die and only the cat would know.  But I try to keep myself busy and the brain active.  Now that I no longer have my Mouchotte project on which to focus attention, I must find another interest.
