Shoreham Airshow 2007
Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

WHITBY, ALNWICK CASTLE, GARDENS AND FANTASTIC BARTER BOOKSHOP. RIEVAUX ABBEY - ALNWICK CASTLE

WHITBY, ALNWICK BARTER BOOKSTORE, RIEVAULT ABBEY, LINDISFARNE AND ALNWICK CASTLE AND GARDENS

Dear All who follow my blogs on a regular basis. I had a fantastic few days up in York and Northumberland. Went up for the Allied Air Forces Memorial Service and stayed with my oldest friend. I always pay whistle-stop tours so we decided this time we’d have a girlie few days and do some exploring.

I’ve just been so busy since I returned – very sick cat, broken boiler and getting ready for my trip to Gibraltar for the renaming of the RAF HQ after René Mouchotte that I’ve just not had time to write or upload photos.

Suddenly the World and his Wife on Gibraltar are interested in the story and I don’t think my feet will touch the ground during my brief visit which is going to encompass a tour of the Rock, a possible view of the Rock from the sea in a Rib, the Renaming Ceremony, a Black Tie Dinner at which I have to give a 15 minute talk about René (problem there is cutting the story down to the allocated time), a Church Service. And because a certain Channel are on the Rock filming for a new series, they want to include me and the René story. Heaven knows how it will all be fitted in but I’d rather be rushed off my feet than sitting twiddling my thumbs.

So promise – when I get back I’ll write blogs about wonderful North Yorkshire and Northumberland which can’t be done in a hurry.

A bientôt,  Jan
