Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

RENÉ MOUCHOTTE - Vitrine at Lycée Français, Kensington

Date: 12th June 2013

RENÉ MOUCHOTTE – Vitrine at Lycée Français, London

On June 18th, commemorating the Appel of Gen. de Gaulle, part of the ceremony will be the dedication of the Vitrine in the entrance hall of the Lycée Français in London. For the next year the Vitrine will contain the story of René Mouchotte.

This came about through a chance meeting at the Remembrance Day Ceremony in November at the statue of Marechal Foch in London. I was in attendance as a Patron of Souvenir Français and met the lady who organizes the Vitrine. On telling her of my documentary, she evinced an interesting in dedicating the exhibition cabinet to René – eh voilà.

Now as an added bonus I’ve just heard that Col. De Lisle and his wife – one of René’s nieces – are coming over from France and will be in London next week so it will be wonderful to have them at the ceremony.

The Day will start at the statue of Gen. de Gaulle in Carlton Gdns, then the dedication of the Vitrine, followed by lunch and draw to a close with a showing of my film and questions etc.
