Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

WINTER - Will it ever end?

WINTER – Will it ever end?

I simply cannot believe this weather. Had to put on the central heating on Saturday night, yesterday evening I braved it out in a polo neck sweater and a cardigan. Now I’ve had to turn the heating back on again.

Yesterday we were promised a temperature of 20 degrees – well I’ve got news for the weather people. Down here in Kent as I made my way to the Cathedral, the outside temperature reading on my car dashboard  was reading 11 degrees and when I reached the Cathedral found the radiators back on again. Anyone with oil shares must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Just think of the extra cost in fuel for the NHS, for Care Homes etc.

I opt to pay the same amount for my heating and lighting throughout the ‘summer months!!’ in the largely vain hope that by the time winter hits us, I will have built up some credit. The way things are going, I’ll have to remortgage the flat to pay the ever increasing heating and lighting bills!
