Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

SSE - Massive Fine

Date: 3rd April 2013

Well Well Well.  I didn't realise I was with SSE until yesterday when I was taking a look at my Direct Debits and though my Gas states Southern Electric Gas Ltd.  I then found a DD to SSE for Electric (all a bit confusing).

I thought I had a contract with Marks and Spencer! It so happened that I was walking through M & S in Canterbury late last year and a very personable young man asked if he could talk to me about M & S Energy.  My main question for him was 'Is your Call Centre in the UK' to which the answer was Yes and even though my Gas and Electricity were going to be a trifle more expensive than with EON, I decided to change purely for that reason.  And I must say that the Call Centre staff in Scotland are polite and extremely helpful.

I wrote the other day about the phenomenal hike in my Energy bills.  Now I ask myself if SSE will find some way of hiking their energy prices even further to help fund the massive fine which has been imposed on them!!!!!!!!!

However, I don't feel like changing energy suppliers again because it is a bit like Snakes and Ladders - you change because it appears to be a better deal and then a bit further down the line, there is a price rise.  As a consumer, you simply cannot win
