Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

The Grass is Greener

Date: 2nd April 2013

Just down the road from where I live, there's an idyllic scene which looks like something out of Constable.  The fields surrounding Walmer Castle have, for most of the year, sheep grazing.

I passed the field this morning and had to go back to take a few photos of the lambs - mind you they are quite big considering the time of year - but I daresay with the dreadful cold weather we've been having that they've been kept indoors.

I called this Blog - the Grass is Greener because they have the whole extensive 'field' in which to graze and yet here they are pulling at the grass in the mud beside the road.  And don't we all think the Grass is Greener on the other side of the fence.

For the last couple of years they've had a couple of black sheep and I never managed to get a photo of them - either didn't have my camera or they were too far away.  This year I couldn't see any black sheep - they were simply adorable.
