Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Date: 22nd September 2012

I have been promising myself for decades that I would improve my French but always something else intervened and then I made the excuse that my memory isn’t what it used to be and that I was neither a beginner nor advanced so I didn't fit any tailormade course.

All that changed two weeks ago at the Yorkshire Air Museum Service for the Allied Forces. I was chatting with one of the wives accompanying her husband on a tour of duty in Paris and she has put me onto the Michel Thomas Language Course. I listened to the Sample on line and have ordered the complete course.  I think, from the sample, that I’m going to benefit greatly from the course and then dependent on how I progress, I might just treat myself to a rather pricey Immersion Course in France early next year.

My research on René Mouchotte has just about concluded (watch this space) and I must have a project. As a Patron of Souvenir Français, what better one could I have than paying the French the compliment of perfecting my knowledge of their lovely language.

A bientôt. Jan
