Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

This really does have the ‘Wow’ factor and has you on the edge of your seat.

Decades ago I saw Cirque du Soleil which I thoroughly enjoyed both as a spectacle and as an example of the fact that one can have a Big Top Circus without using animals. Obviously as a child I was taken to the circus and thoroughly enjoyed the outings but then I was not aware of the cruelty of keeping animals in cages even if they were well treated – which in many cases I doubt.

Cirque du Ciel is touring is touring the UK for six weeks and if you have a chance, book now.

Our newly refurbished Marlow Theatre is beginning to smarten up its act in bringing out of town runs to Canterbury and is rewarded by full houses. The only downside is that unless you book early you are often in for a disappointment as the runs are limited to a few days only.

I cannot begin to describe the dexterity, the gymnastics, the showmanship of this wonderful company of only 24 performers from Shanghai. They were all absolutely superb but I found my attention constantly pulled back to the drummer at the right hand side of the stage – what a performance. He got extra special applause at the end of the show.

I cannot even begin to do justice to the show by way of explanation so go onto the web and ‘read all about it for yourself’ and if you can get a ticket, then do so.
