Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Date: 11th February 2012

Back in the UK and wish I weren't.  The jet lag was the worst I've ever experienced, I was missing my son and then woke to a white world last Sunday and my Goodness it has been cold.

Nothing much to write about.  However, I spent several hours uploading photos onto the Gallery so I do hope you will enjoy them.  It's only a collection of about 50 photos out of the 1000 I took but it's not the quickest exercise in the world because I have to individually caption each photo. The caption doesn't transfer automatically from Iphoto. and I don't think you'd want to see all 1000 anyway.

I didn't mention it but back in the UK on 7th January there was an item in the paper about me.  I simply couldn't lie about my age as the Press continually trumpet it.  However I had been asked months ago to do a photoshoot and talk about diet, dress, life etc and to bring into London a selection from my wardrobe.  When I arrived for the shoot with the lovely Alan Olley, he asked if we could change the plan and would I mind dressing up like Audrey Hepburn. As she is one of my heroines, I readily agreed.

Alan has just sent me a disc with all the photos and he gave permission for me to put some on my website.  He spent ages doing the lighting and made an old woman look rather glamorous.  I don't think he did much photoshopping because in the big photos that I have you can readily see the wrinkles etc - not sure if they will show up on what I can upload onto the web.

He also took some photos of me in a Gina Fratini creation I've had since the mid 70's.  Elizabeth Taylor had the same gown only hers was in pale shades of green and featured recently in a weekend magazine as one of the gowns being auctioned off during a sale of her effects.  I absolutely loved this dress and frankly they could bury me in it!

A bientôt - Jan
