Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Date: 16th December 2011

The Director of the French Museum in York, Ian Reed,  has been working flat out to help me with my René Mouchotte project.  He has unearthed a short clip of the News Film showing René and Jack Charles shaking hands and agreeing to share the prize for the downing of the 1000th Enemy Plane.  René only says a few words but there he is ......

Ian has also put together some photos of René and posted them on Youtube.

Do have a look.

Went to Leeds Castle yesterday to see it decked out in its Christmas finery with many rooms devoted to themes.  I took some great photos but at the moment I haven't time to share them with you.  I'm way behind on my Blogs and might not have time now till after Christmas.  But I want to tell you about Ringwould Church and an ancestor among other subjects.

Until the next time.  Jan
