Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

BBC RADIO 4 - REUNION - Sunday 5th May 11.15am

Date: 3rd May 2019

To my faithful followers I again apologise for not posting Blogs - I seem to constantly apologise.  I'm spending far too much time on Twitter.  One of the reasons being that I am restricted to word count and that is good for me.  I love to write and when I regularly wrote Blogs - I ended up writing essays which was very time consuming.  There are so many issues about which I get 'hot under the collar' and I can give vent to my feelings more quickly on Twitter.

However I thought I'd publicise a BBC Radio 4 programme this Sunday in the Reunion Series.  This one reunites the first women newsreaders and features Julia Summerville, Angela Rippon, Sue Lawley and myself.  Anna Ford was due to come but pulled out at the last minute.  I'd not see any of the girls for decades.  The programme was well orchestrated by Producer Emily Williams and well chaired by Sue McGregor.  We recorded for 2 hours so much will disappear in the editing!.

If you are interested, I hope you will find the programme enjoyable.  And I promise I'll try to keep up with a few more Blogs but life hasn't been particularly exciting for a while so there's not really been a lot to share with you

But if you want to catch up with day to day activities - do sign in to Twitter and my account is @Jan_Leeming.
