Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Date: 4th October 2016

As Ambassadress for Just You Singles Holidays my next Assisgnment is a trip to Burma.  I'm getting very excited about it - just think - a visit to a staggeringly colourful and beautiful country and in the words of the Stevie Wonder song they've told me 'Don't you worry 'bout a Thing'.  And indeed i don't have to because I know the whole trip will be organised down to the last final dot.  I can say this with confidence having experienced their Tuscan Highlights Holiday back in June where I could not believe the care which was taken of us and the fact that we really didn't have to worry about anything because it was all done for us.

I can't embed the little Video into my Website but if you'd like to see what I felt about Tuscany at the end of my sojourn there,  you will see the Video and a whole article about my experience with Just You Singles Holidays

Rather than me telling you about all the places we will be visiting in our short stay in Burma, why not look it up on line or even send for their brochure - that is a delight in itself with so much from which to choose.

And something to which I am looking forward with great impatience is a Balloon Ride over the Pagodas.  I was a trifle hesitant at first but then when I was told that the pilots are all from Bristol, my confidence returned.  Apparently the pilots leave Bristol like birds migrating to warmer climes and work the season in Burma until the better weather returns to the UK.

It won't be my first flight in a Balloon.  Many years ago I went on a short trip which took off from the grounds in front of the Royal Crescent in Bath.  It was lovely drifting over the rooftops in silence only punctuated by the hot air blast.  Imagine that - floating over spectacular Pagodas hopefully glinting in the first rays of the rising sun - Yes it does mean an incredibly early start but Who Cares!  Anyway my new little charge is ensuring that I'm up and out of doors very early to take him 'walkies' - I have to as I don't have a garden.  I only hope he sleeps later in the winter dark.
