Shoreham Airshow 2007
Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ON JAN LEEMING

Date: 19th September 2016

Hi everyone,

I get my Website analysis every Monday morning and it is always interesting to see what has brought people on to my Site - they come from all over the world (in small numbers) and obviously they don't know me from a bar of soap but something about which I've written must have registered in a 'Search' and they find their way to me.

Of course the largest 'readership' comes from the UK - though I obviously have dedicated followers in France and Australia because the same numbers come up every week.

Questions are asked on line and I get to see what these questions are.  So once again I'll give you a rundown of answers.

Dave Spinx              NO - we definitely did not date and I haven't seen him since the recording of 'Come Dine with Me' which was about 5 years ago.  The programme was a bit of fun but that was all.  He is definitely not my type and I'm sure the feeling was mutual!

Boyfriend                 No - there is no man in my life.  I've been on my own for 13 years as I stated in the Real Marigold Hotel

Siblings                   I have a younger sister and an even younger Half-sister

Children                  I have one son, Jonathan.  He is 35 and lives in Austraia.

Home                      I live in an apartment in Kent and it is my one and only dwelling.  I have to admit I get a trifle annoyed at the number of people who make the assumption that it is my 'holiday home' - but we have had an invasion of Londoners buying up property either for weekending or to let out to holidaymakers.

India                        Again - there is a misapprehension.  It was Bobby - the darts player - who was considering buying or building in India until he discovered that if one did you had to have an indigenous partner who owned 51%.  I only ever intimated that I might consider renting for 3 months during our winter.  But when I came home, and on reflection, realised that after the first year when one would be hosting friends and family and would have visited all the wonderful sites in the immediate area, then what!  You'd be spending most of your time in an air conditioned apartment going nowhere.  Emma runs a business and she dips and dives, returning to the UK several times in a year.  However, I would like to visit Southern India where my father was born and brought up.  This is something I could do with Just You Singles Holidays as they offer 3 holidays to that fascinating sub-continent.

Nude                       I have never posed nude but I did have a photo taken where I was covered in butterflies.  It was taken on my 69th Birthday and the fee went to a Cancer Charity

Pets                         I had pets all my adult life, a miniature and 3 standard poodles and a stray cat.  The latter, Tamby died last year at the age of 16.  He'd been very ill with Hyperthyroidism and I did my utmost.  He had radiation treatment and we gained a year.   I'd always been a 'dog person' but Tamby was the only pet I'd had for the last 13 years - he was unique, gorgeous and I loved him to bits.  I still miss him terribly.

My Biography is not quite up to date and is something to which I must attend.  I am now an Ambassador for Just You Singles Holidays and part of my job was to Tweet photos etc.from the first Singles Holiday on which they sent me - Highlights of Tuscany.  I quite enjoyed the experience so I've kept it going and Tweet photos if I think they might be of interest to 'my followers'.   So I now have a Twitter account and was recently told I ought also to have Instagram.  I'm not very good at modern technology but I'm getting there.

I can't promise to answer all questions individually but from time to time I'll answer them en masse like I have done today.

Thank you for your interest.  Jan
