Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Flowers to friends and family

Date: 24th June 2016

Have you ever ordered flowers to be sent to friends and family both in the UK and abroad?

I've not only received but have discovered that the order I sent was 'well below par'.

Once I ordered flowers for Mother's Day not expecting to be making a visit.  As it was I did pay a call and was appalled at the Flowers my mother had received.  The interesting thing was that both my sister and I had sent flowers from the same florist and those ordered by my sister were very acceptable.  I know I've become much more cyncial as I've grown older but I can't help wondering if the florist thought I'd not be seeing the flowers and my mother would hardly complain!!

I wanted to send Birthday flowers to a friend in Sydney, Australia and for once the Internet was my friend. Discovering that I could actually order direct from a florist in the city, I did so through

Not only was it just as easy to place an order as it is in the UK but I got somewhat confused over the time difference and delivery and the owner Neville immediately sent an email asking for my preference.  What service and I'm sure the flowers will be perfect.

So there you are - sending flowers abroad is no longer a hit and miss affair.
