Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Passwords & Call Centres - BT and Tesco Mobile

Date: 22nd June 2016

PASSWORDS and Customer Service. BT and Tesco Mobile

Passwords – oh the dreaded passwords. I am totally sick and tired of the times I’m told my password is incorrect (despite having it written down) and it is very difficult to see if you’ve made an error in the typing because you just get the annoying ‘dots’.

So you change your password and then have to answer security questions. Today I was told that my Mother’s Maiden Name was incorrect – Duh!

One of the worst for this problem is British Telecom BT. I remember years ago when the problem was so severe that I had to hand over my screen to a young lady in India – everything was changed. A few days later, guess what – I inadvertently put in the old password and ‘Open Sesame’ – everything opened.

And it has happened again today. Having had to change the password a few days ago which also impacted on my Iphone and Ipad so that I had to re-set virtually everything, today I was again kicked out and had to change the password yet again. You’ve guessed it – it didn’t work and now I am in a ‘Chat’ with India. After an hour when the man could not sort the problem and I could not understand what he was talking about technically, he then said that ‘Team 2” would contact me. I’ve experienced that before – they didn’t then and they didn’t this time. Eventually I had to get a friend to come and sort it.

Conversely I can’t speak highly enough of the service offered by Tesco Mobile in all departments.
Walking through Tesco last year, they were offering a special deal on Iphones and having some time to spare I visited the department. The gentleman who dealt with me could not have been more helpful with regard to information and everything else and consequently I upgraded my phone.

Having spent Christmas with my son in Australia, I discovered that, apart from big zooms and night shots, his Phone camera was actually better than my Sony Cybershot. As I am now Brand Ambassador for Just You Singles Holidays and have to ‘Tweet’ photos etc. I felt  I needed the immediacy of good photos instantaneously. With my Sony I have to place the memory card into my desktop and this is not the most convenient method when one is away from home.

I decided to ‘bite the bullet’ and go for an SE – I didn’t want the large Iphone6 but wanted the camera quality. So again I visited Tesco and was lucky enough to be helped by a delightful lady – Cheryl I think was her name.

Any problems and you get through to a real person who actually lives in the UK and speaks English. I would pay over the odds for most things simply to have a Call Centre in this country.  And you don't have to wait long for an answer.
