Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

SPIN Oh I do so love the French - they are so non PC. I have really enjoyed some past French Crime/Political Drama Series and friends recently mentioned 'Spin' on More4 - a channel I don't usually watch. I gorged on the first series last night and watched the lot - just as well - not sure I could have followed ithe plot had I had to wait a week in between episodes. The French do not make sacred icons of their politicians - they are fair game. I'm sure there is exaggeration and theatrical licence but I wouldn't mind betting that Politics really is somewhat similar to the 'cess pit' portrayed in 'Spin'. I am quite sure that most politicians enter the Fray with altruistic motives but many get seduced along the way by POWER. What do they say - Power corrupts and Absolute Power corrupts Absolutely'! Many years ago I did not watch programmes with Subtitles but, as I often have to use them on English programmes because of the mumbling and unintelligible accents - I might as well watch foreign language films. The plot in 'Spin' is far too complicated for me to even try and explain but if you enjoy a good drama you could do no better than catching up on the series. I'm off to get stuck into Series Two. I wonder why these French Series aren't shown on more mainstream channels - not PC enough mayhap!!!!!!!
