Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Date: 10th February 2016

Just a quickie. So many folk have commented on the good mix of people in Marigold. Well thanks are due to Ros Edwards the Talent Producer for Two Four Productions. It was she who sifted through and interviewed us all and made choices which then had to be sanctioned by the BBC. Many people have written to say it was SO REFRESHING not to have people bitching each other and using swear words. It has upset me greatly the dumbing down of Television across all channels. I am no prude and enjoy a risqué joke with the best - although I prefer the more subtle 'double entendres' but the gratuitous crudity of so much television actually offends me. After the repeat of Marigold 2 on Saturday - I left on the Television and turned to my computer to answer more of your emails. Eventually I couldn't avoid hearing the noise in the background and turned to see a comedian who was not very funny and whose jokes were totally littered with the 'f' word. I couldn't believe what I was hearing from 'Live at the Apollo' and couldn't get to the Off switch fast enough. Many thanks dear Ros for enabling myself and the others to have such a wonderful experience despite the heat and humidity and the 70 hour working week!!!!!! Hard work never killed anyone. Bye for now
