Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Date: 6th February 2016

Well I thought I'd got to the end of answering all the emails but another lot have come in today - but I'm not complaining.  I've never had a response like this even when I did 'Come Dine with Me' (5 years ago!!) and which is till going round on an endless loop - wish we got repeat fees!

I rather wish all the people who kindly wrote to me had written to the BBC - I'd love to explore more places  to which to retire.  Mind you India wouldn't be easy and this might be explained in the next episode.  We were all split up for filming so I don't know what Bobbie uncovered because he was talking of building in India.  Unlike this country, you have to have an indigenous partner for any project and it isn't easy to retire there full time.  I'd love to spend 4 or 5 months of the English winter exploring the history and culture of India but, as I've complained before, Travel Insurance only covers you for 30 days in any one visit once you hit the big 7-0.  And again I repeat I'd be more than willing to spend several hundreds on a Medical (by the Insurance Company) if they'd grant me a little more control over my life!!!!!!!!!!

I've put at least one photo per blog from my Australian holiday and will put more into the Gallery as soon as possible but I must get down to some paper work and I'm away much of next week celebrating my sister's birthday, visiting Jonathan's father and his wife, and sadly going to yet another funeral.
