Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

THE FACE OF INDIA

Date: 6th February 2016

I've brought back many beautiful and highly colourful memories of India but one of the most poignant was this photo I took on leaving the Airport to come home.

I'd visited the Ladies and there was this incredibly beautiful young woman attendant who looked so sad.  We'd cleaned out most of our India money - you aren't supposed to take Rupees out of India so I only had small change left in my purse to the value of maybe £1 which I gave to her.  She was so grateful and I so wished I'd had a lot more to give.  She seemed to follow me out of the Ladies and as I passed the glass I took this photo - it slightly haunts me.
