Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Date: 3rd February 2016

Dear All, Thank you.

I've been overwhelmed with delightful emails and would like to reply to you all which I shall try to do. I always prided myself, when I worked at the BBC, with answering all the mail I received but I did have secretarial help. I am now my own secretary and I really will try hard to reply individually.

My Manager asked me to set up a Twitter account several years ago but I've never really used it. I prefer to write my blogs. However overnight I've gone from 62 followers to almost 700. I get analysis of my Website every Monday and this week the hits had gone over 5,000 - so I do hope that everyone enjoyed Marigold.

I've no idea what next week's episode will bring or feature but I understand the BBC are delighted with their audience of over 3 million. I well remember shortly before my News Contract came to an end at the BBC, I received a memo (no emails in those days) congratulating me on the Sunday Night News figures - 14.1 millions!! Those days are long since gone - we now have hundreds of channels and 'nothing to watch' so I'm delighted that you seem to enjoy Marigold.

I'd love to do another series somewhere else - although India would suit me in many ways. Bye for now, Jan
