Me looking brave before taking to the air (and the wing) of the plane. Wow, it was cold !! But the whole experience was totally exhilarating.

Jan's Blog

Computers and the internet are amazing things. One of my concerns with putting together this site was that it could remain current, yet with all my travelling I've often much to say, but little time to say it. Years ago when reading the news it would take me days on end to reply to the kind letters people sent. Now, with the magic of the modern age, I can keep you up to date with what I'm doing and other events in my life.

Date: 8th January 2016

I was allocated Indian Cookery Classes but, at the last moment, the schedule was changed and off I went to Bollywood Dance Class with Patt, Roy and Bobby. What fun - and how I wished I could have had more than 2 lessons. I am told I have a natural dance rhythm but these days I'm a slow learner with dance steps so progress was gradual rather than rapid. Our teacher was excellent and very patient. We learned that he choreographs the Dancing for many Hindu weddings. So the final scene in the second 'Marigold' film was actually a reflection of actuality. They really do learn sequences and round off the several days of wedding ritual with Bollywood.

I very much wanted to attend a Hindu Wedding but was told that September is not an auspicious month for marriage - come back in November! I wish.

I was partnered with Roy and Patti with Bobby but the latter had some leg problem and didn't come to the second class. In his place we got Wayne so then we really were in trouble. Needless to say, Wayne picked up the routine in no time at all. We were informed that, at the end of filming, we were to give a party for all the 'friends' we'd made during filming and that we had to organise everything including Entertainment and that the Bollywood number was a must. Fortunately we had our teacher and a few of his star pupils to kick off the proceedings and then we followed as best we could. Bollywood dancing is extremely good exercise and, if there were a class near where I live, I would definitely sign up.

Programme has just been transmitted and sadly there's no footage of the Bollywood classes - Shame
